The high fire rate of machine guns still fascinates weapons enthusiasts today. Especially in the United States the traditionally liberal gun laws allow them to indulge their passion. Several thousand enthusiasts meet twice a year at the machine gun festivals in Westpoint, Kentucky or at the Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot in the Arizona desert. Occasionally historical weapons like the 08/15 can be seen in action on such occasions – weapons that are banished in Germany due to the Military Weapons Control Act.
