Connected histories and migration history
Dr Margret Frenz' research focuses on entangled and connected history / histories. These connected histories link global geographical regions, their characteristics, and historical contexts with each other. They also tie cultural spaces as well as social practices observed in them together. Relationships between Europe, South Asia, Africa and the Indian Ocean are of particular interest. In all her work, Dr. Frenz endeavours to complement structural top-down approaches with bottom-up, personal experiences in order to achieve a multi-perspective reconstruction of historical phenomena.
A report on Dr Frenz' research can be found in the spring 2019 issue of the EUResearch magazine, and downloaded as a pdf-file here.
